Capturing not only the tiny details but the big picture through the art of video

Floraison Live Event

Compiled and edited footage of a Ryerson student-run fashion show I was a part of planning, put on in partnership with Ryerson’s Consent Comes First.

The show occurred in November 2019 and showcased a diversity of models including racially diverse, gender diverse, and also featured disabled models to highlight Inclusion, one of the three Ryerson School of Fashions’ core principles.

Editorial FAshion Video

This 60-second video is an editorial-styled fashion video highlighting aesthetically sustainable and long-lasting fashion garments, was created for a fourth-year Fashion Communications course.

The techniques used to create these two short fashion films, varied from camera shots, camera angles, and a few editing effects. For the majority of the filming, I had to film and art direct all of the shots using just my tripod, and camera as I could not find anyone to model. I had to film a lot of still shots and therefore needed to vary the angles and height of the camera. I also ensured that each outfit was filmed at a different location to ensure my film imagery was interesting and engaging. Additionally, in Adobe Premiere Pro I was able to create the effects of both Pan and Zoom shots with a few quick and easy editing techniques, and also added some simple dissolve transitions between clips to add a nice effortless flow to keep the films from feeling stagnant/static.

Brittany & Jesse’s Wedding Video

I had the privilege of videotaping and capturing live moments of my cousin and her now husband’s wedding. I created a simple edited video for the bride and groom in the style of a montage film. I then added the speeches at the end of the video as requested by the bride, as her only request from me was to have raw footage of the wedding toasts to emulate the nostalgia from the days of old home movies.

The bride and groom were extremely pleased with the outcome and I quote “went above and beyond their expectations”.
